For Tea & Water Co. (small agency in DUMBO brooklyn), my writing partner Barb Kopeloff and I worked as a CD team to pitch Microsoft on a Special Olympics project. We ideated, concepted, and wrote scripts for an open-ended brief - ultimately winning the pitch with our concept called "For the Love of Special Olympics".
Using key data points (people with special needs respond better to the tangible over the intangible {social media/internet}, and everyone LOVES receiving real, physical mail), we created the "Fandomizer" – an app that leverages the database of Special Olympics athletes and their public data (sport, hobbies, favorite foods, etc) and randomly partners users with a Special Olympics athlete. Our app would then generate a physical postcard that would be sent to the Special Olympics athlete with personalized words of encouragement to root them on for the Seattle 2018 Games.
Funny note - my initial digital design concepts were done in Sketch, and were used as final art. Workflow + Technology = Ready to go!
